The HP ProtectTools software suite adds to the security functionality provided by standard Microsoft products. Its members have been developed in partnership with Microsoft to integrate seamlessly into these products in order to meet the needs of security-conscious organisations the world over.
Each software package can be purchased independently or as part of a comprehensive security solution delivered by HP Services in partnership with SBL.
HP ProtectTools Authentication Services
This provides an internationally approved way of providing an effective password to protect your system from unauthorised access. It enhances password processing and incorporates further features such as configurable pass phrases, management of administrative passwords, last login information, multiple login denial, and timed logout of unattended workstations.
HP ProtectTools Role Based Access
This powerful software enables you to establish a strong multi-role security system with each role being implemented in a separate, cryptographically protected Windows account. Simply toggle from one role to another.
HP ProtectTools Email Release Manager
This is a customisable policy enforcement system that provides vital security enhancements for Microsoft Exchange and Outlook clients. It automatically controls what can be sent to whom and includes facilities to electronically sign, encrypt, and audit mail messages. There are further capabilities to prevent so-called mail storms by monitoring email size and the number of intended recipients. All these features tighten your organisation's control with minimal impact on your users.
HP ProtectTools Enterprise Device Access Manager
Provides central management over what users can do with devices on their desktops or notebooks. For example, the product may be configured to convert some users’ CD/DVD writers to being Read-Only devices; similarly with USB memory sticks. Indeed, other users may have their access restricted or denied to not only USB sticks and CD/DVDs but also Digital Cameras, Compact Flash Cards, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and more.
Managing and controlling the import and export of data onto or from systems is essential. Suitable for servers, PC's and laptops in an enterprise environment, HP ProtectTools Enterprise Device Access Manager utilises the Microsoft Windows Active Directory to store and propagate device access permissions throughout the Windows Domain. This removes the overhead of additional server hardware, relational database systems and their subsequent maintenance that are required by other device access control software.
In enterprise deployments, as device permissions are controlled centrally, it is a simple process to block access to a device by adding the permission into Active Directory with no need to visit the workstation. The use of Active Directory means that the device permissions are replicated automatically throughout the existing domain environment, removing the need for additional servers or infrastructure changes.
SECURESOLUTIONS
HP SecureSolutions One-way Data Diode Solutions
One-way solutions are a series of pre-configured gateways allowing the transfer of files and folders, Email and Data from an insecure to a secure network with no return path, whilst guaranteeing confidentiality of the secure network by using an ITSEC E6 and Common Criteria EAL-7 Data Diode. Three versions are available, all of which transfer information from a source to a destination network only.
- File Transfer – This allows the transfer of files.
- Email Transfer – This allows the transfer of Email. Email is routed automatically from the source network to the destination network using SMTP over a specified port.
- Data Forwarding – This allows the transfer of network data packets. Network data packets are routed automatically from the source network to the destination network via specified ports.
HP SecureSolutions Trusted Audit
Trusted Audit allows data from any source and of any type to be audited then delivers the data to a centralised location, intact and in the format it was when collected. The use of industry standard RFC3161 timestamps provides irrefutable proof that the material existed in that form at the time of timestamping. Because of temporal and sequential integrity, at any future point it is possible to determine whether the audit material is still in its original form.
HP SecureSolutions NetTop
NetTop is a high-assurance integrated solution for multi-network access, simplifying high-assurance, multi-domain computing. It supports multiple security domains on one machine, non-secure software on a secure OS and data isolation at an affordable price.
