SBL is delighted to have been re-awarded DE&S ISS Information Assurance Contract which began on 1st May 2010.  This is for the supply of Information Assurance products and services, specifically including encrypted mobile computing solutions of Impact Levels 3 and above. 

This sees SBL as the only company to be awarded both Buying Solutions Commoditised IT Hardware and Software (CITHS) and Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) public sector framework agreements.

DE&S Broad Scope
Summary of Requirements / Description of Work; Portable computers. Security software package. IT software package. Parts, accessories and supplies for computers. Hardware installation services. Hardware. Repair, maintenance and associated services related to personal computers, office equipment, telecommunications and audio-visual equipment. Software-related services. Software support services. Personal computers. Installation services of computers and office equipment including Audio-visual equipment.

Product Scope
PRODUCTS: Encryption software and commercial off the shelf software as part of an encrypted mobile computing solution; HARDWARE PRODUCTS such as Encryption hardware, Mobile Computing products including laptops, handheld devices, Accredited Secure Destruction/Erasure products (e.g. CD/DVD Eradicators, Degaussers, Secure Shredders), MoD approved colour coded media storage products including USB sticks and unmarked lockable storage / transit products. Supply of Site Access Management products in support of existing in service solutions; All product or service offerings should include, but not be limited to, CESG approval/accreditation; Associated accessories for the above products; Any Warranties and Maintenance are to be provided with product purchases only.

Service Scope
SERVICES: The successful supplier(s) must be capable of providing software asset management; IT/IS Customer requirement solutions including installation, configuration, support and training. Customer solutions to include Audio-Visual equipment, installations and setup. Services may include supply of products as part of solutions; Accredited secure disposal, destruction and erasure services in accordance with HMG standard’s; Support to existing Site Access Management solutions;

Who are DE&S?

Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) equips and supports the UK's armed forces for current and future operations. Employing roughly 22,500 people, with a budget of £13 billion, its headquarters is in Bristol with other sites across the UK and overseas.

DE&S acquires and supports equipment and services, including ships, aircraft, vehicles and weapons, information systems and satellite communications. As well as continuing to supply general requirements, food, clothing, medical and temporary accommodation, DE&S is also responsible for HM Naval Bases, the joint supply chain and British Forces Post Office.
